Testimonials

I have been a student at Goalie U for almost ten years now. Every minute I spent on the ice with Stefan, he pushed me to be the best I could be. He taught me to sacrifice on and off the ice and most importantly, believed in me. Just two seasons ago I was a house league goalie. Today I am a Jr. A goaltender and have played for both the Gloucester Rangers and Kanata Stallions of the CJHL. Playing Jr. A hockey has always been a personal goal of mine and I can attribute my success to Goalie U’s world-class development program. Stefan has always been there to answer any questions, and has helped me overcome numerous obstacles in my career. Stepping on the ice at Goalie U has always been, and will continue to be a much looked forward to experience. Its fun, intense and most importantly it will help you realize your full potential. I would highly recommend Goalie U to any individual seeking to reach that next level of performance.   If you have a goal, I know that Stefan will do whatever it takes to help get you there. I am forever grateful to Stefan for helping me get to where I am, and for shaping me into the goalie, and person I am today.

Stefan has the patience and ability to relate to goalies of all ages. He can quickly identify a goalie’s strengths and weaknesses, then uses this to teach a goalie to play to their highest potential.  My son has enjoyed his sessions and I can see the improvement. Stefan creates an environment for success that develops the mental as well as the physical aspects of a goaltender.

  • Mark Peacock

Well as we were leaving Sacha looked at me and said:"That was so much fun, can I come again?" Thank you so much for agreeing to see him today and for having extra help for him, Denis and I are very appreciative.

Thank you again for all your help!

It seems that things are going well with Mat this year. He managed to make the Sting B team. This was a very positive thing for him and I hope he can build on this by continuing to work hard on and off the ice. Once again you have been very supportive throughout the years and we thank you very much for that.

  • Julie Kingston (Goalie parent)

My son has made the AA team (top competitive level in our area) for his age group the past three years, and he and I give a great deal of the credit to his training at GoalerU.  They deliver a fast-paced, highly challenging environment that combines in-depth technical and tactical training, and really accelerates the goalie's ability to improve performance in tough game situations.

But what separates GoalerU from other goalie training schools is Stefan Nichols, and the teaching approach he has instilled in all GoalerU instructors and staff.  Stefan's personal combination of very high energy, direct experience of playing at the highest levels of hockey, and an intense interest in the welfare and capabilities of each goalie student is reflected in everyone associated with GoalerU.  My son started training with Stefan at the age of 9, and I'm sure he'll still be learning from Stefan whenever he ends his hockey career.

My name is Shannon Donnelly; I am in my first year of University at Neumann University in Aston PA USA with a scholarship in Women’s hockey. I’ve been a goalie for 7 years now. I've always look for ways to improve my technical side of my game as well as my conditioning. Stefan Nichols gave me the chance to do so by setting up well thought drills that not only forced me to work hard on my strengths but also my weaknesses  that over the years, improved my game a lot over the years. Stefan always looked at ways to improve my game and help me reach the next level by focusing on; position, repetitions, rebound control, stick and puck handling, and mind setting prior to a game. He always showed confidence and determination on my behalf.
Thank you Stephan, through hard work, determination and your encouragement you help me getting to where I am today.

Hi Stefan,

I wanted to thank you and your dedicated staff at Goaler U for helping my son Connor develop his skills and successfully achieve his goal to move up from House league to the Competitive level in one short year.

He learned a lot at your sessions throughout the year, and especially at your summer camp just prior to try-outs in August. The try-out Evaluation Team and coaches were particularly impressed with his mobility, positioning, and recovery techniques.

As a result, Connor is now thriving at the competitive Major PeeWee level and looks forward to continuing his development at Goaler U and reaching new goals !

Yours in Hockey,

  • Tim Ellis  (Connor's Dad)

Our family was referred to Stef Nicols from many goalie parents. Everything they said was true he is an excellent communicator, fantastic at breaking down a problem and having a solution.
His message to goalies is consistent and clear. His background not only as an elite goalie himself, but as a teacher makes his ability to teach this subject that much better.

In my own son’s case – he likes Stefan’s sessions because they are intense, but fun!   He is always watching and paying attention to every detail –if he sees a problem he fixes it.
I would strongly recommend Stef and his entire group. You will see results!

I am a AA goalie and I started coming to GU 3 years ago just before the first competitive tryouts.  Stefan teaches us about proper positioning and saves and how to never give up.  After a while making the right moves becomes automatic and I feel better during games because I know what I should do on the ice.  Stefan gives us a hard workout but tells lots of jokes and always cheers when we make a good save.

GU has really helped me make the AA hockey team.

  • Adam (age 11, playing Minor Peewee AA).

I now play AAA hockey and I am in my 5th year with Stefan at GU.  When I started competitive hockey I found that team practices focused more on the players.  Then I went to GU and I found out that with the proper techniques goaltending becomes a lot easier.  Stefan’s sessions made a big difference for me as they teach you the proper techniques at a high tempo with all the goalies receiving a lot of personal attention.  These sessions are very hard work, but I find them to be a lot of fun with Stefan, and I know it is worth it when we win a close game.  GU has really helped me make be the best goalie I can be.

  • Matt (age 14, playing Major Bantam AAA)

Stefan is a great, high intensity and motivated goaltending instructor.  He constantly follows the most up to date techniques in the goalie world to help improve his skills as an instructor which leaks into my performance on the ice.  His drills are goalie specific to high intensity game-like situations incorporating many different techniques to help achieve my goal of being the #1 goalie on my team  Stefan offers a wide variety of knowledge on the position and he is always looking for ways to improve this or make that faster.  His great people skills had made him easy to relate and communicate with during sessions whenever I have questions and he is always open for input. I want to continue to elevate my game and stay on top. Stefan definitely gives me the best chance he can to help me achieve my goals.

  • Dean Shepherdson (Junior A Sens goalie)

Goaler U is such a well organized and professional team headed by Stefan Nichols. This school has been instrumental in developing Connor to play at the highest level in a very short period of time.  Stefan and his staff are very personal and genuine with all the kids. We constantly recommend this goalie school to anyone at any level. Connor always looks forward to his next session and Stefan is definetly one of his role models.
